Common Heritage Corporation has assembled a dedicated team of experts who will help the organization in its mission to use deep ocean water (DOW) to create economically and environmentally sustainable habitats.
Our partners have expertise in their particular area and also share the vision of CHC.
Makai Ocean
Engineering, Inc.
Makai Ocean Engineering was established in 1973 as a diversified
ocean engineering and naval architecture company providing service
in Hawai'i and the Pacific. Today, Makai provides ocean engineering
services worldwide. Its broad base of clientele includes domestic
and international firms in private, industrial, and commercial sectors;
federal, state, and local governments; and Pacific Island nations.
Makai Ocean Engineering performed the survey, complete design,
and construction observation for NELHA's 55-inch seawater supply
pipeline, the world's deepest and largest seawater intake pipeline.
This was one of six national projects to receive an "Award
of Merit" for the 2003 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement
(OCEA) Award by the American
Society of Civil Engineers. Makai has designed four other successful
deep intake pipelines in Hawaii and pipelines for the city of Toronto
and Cornell University to furnish environmentally-sound air conditioning.
Makai's capabilities span the entire sub-sea spectrum, from shallow
coastal waters to the deep ocean. It offers a wide range of engineering
and design services including: submarine cable planning and installation,
deep ocean pipelines, software development, construction planning,
modeling, data analysis, submersibles and marine vehicles, coastal
engineering, and at-sea operations, planning, and supervision.
Deep Ocean Exploration & Research
Most of the projects managed by Deep Ocean Exploration & Research (DOER) are valued at $500,000 or less, however the technology DOER provides is the linch pin for the larger multimillion dollar projects in which they participate. DOER has been engaged as a technology partner for a number of multimillion-dollar tunnel and pipeline projects where its technology was a key factor not only in getting the job done, but also in ensuring that the job was completed safely. DOER was also responsible for training the scientists and looking after the submersibles utilized during the Sustainable Seas Expeditions. Again, its ability to manage personnel and keep the submersibles ready to go was key to the success of the project.
OCEES International, Inc.
OCEES International, aligned with its strategic partners, is the world's leader in ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) systems technology. It has enforceable patents and practical, real-world experience in all phases of integrated OTEC systems development: design, deployment, operation, and maintenance. OCEES provides a broad range of innovative products and services offered synergistically with its OTEC system power plant designs.
OCEES' multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and strategic corporate alliances creates energy and resource solutions for tropical island communities globally by providing clean, renewable power, significant quantities of pure, fresh water, and sustainable food sources.
